The Silex performs well in high wind situations because it pitches tight due to subtle cuts hidden in the seams. If rough weather is expected it's recommended to utilize all stake loops instead of just the four corners. The Silex is a zipperless shelter so no need to worry about leaking, wearing out, or adding weight to your pack. The Silex is a perfect option for the hunter that's counting ounces to go farther and hunt harder.

For those looking to add a stove to your silex, we recommend a medium stove if you're looking to save weight, provide good heat, and have a cooking surface. If weight isn't as big of a concern, you want more cooking surface, or you already own a larger Seek Outside shelter like the Cimarron, we'd recommend a large stove.
